Synch Across Devices?

Reggie A 15 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
Hi Kevin - good day!  Am reading great feedback on your GTD and was just wondering if there is a way to synch the application across different devices, e.g. desktop, laptop, and android?

Hello Reggie,

you can synchronize your todos via the file synchronizer (e.g. USB Stick, local network, or Dropbox-Folder) and over an ftp server. This allows you to use Wieldy on more the one machine.

Currently there is now plan for an android app. I'm playing around with windows phone 7, to replace the current windows mobile version.

Regards

Kevin

Delegierte Aufgaben

Typing into a field (e.g. a new thought) very slow ... using almost all CPU while doing it

Anonymous 15 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 15 years ago 2
Wiely ran great for a few days, then I noticed that typing into any field (e.g. a new though) was very slow ... meaning only a few characters showed up on the screen per second. To see what was going on, I opened the Task Manager and saw that CPU usage was extremely high, while typing. Seems like something (maybe some sort of refresh?) is happening after every character I type. Any thoughts? I love Wieldy, but this issue is making it almost impossible to work with :-(

Locking Wieldy during synchronisation prevents the synchronisation

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
When autolock is active and windows is locked during an active synchronisation, the synchronisation will seem to be working, but the data will not be modified.

CHANGING PROJECT NAME WILL NOT PUT IT INTO CORRECT PROJECT FILE

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
WHEN I HIT THE WRONG PROJECT NAME AND FIND OUT LATER I CORRECT IT.  HOWEVER THE CORRECTION, WHICH I HAVE MADE IN RECURRING TASKS, DOES NOT MOVE THE ITEM INTO THE CORRECT PROJECT FOLDER.  THE ACTION STAYS IN RECURRING.

Storing the database in Dropbox directly

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
Is there anything in the program that makes the above a stupid idea? I use Wieldy both at work and at home, and it feels as if the synchronizing function is a bit redundant if I use DropBox on all my computers. I'll never be at two places the same time anyway....

Syncing via Dropbox is okay. There is no need to use the synchronizer, as long as you won't change the file on both sides before Dropbox has synced the file. Such szenario would only work with the synchronisation ability of Wieldy, as it can merge changes done on both sides.

Add ellipsis function to long strings in left pane

Tomas S 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
I suggest an ellipsis function to truncate long strings while keeping the number of items visible. Check out Evernote if not sure what I mean. I know there is an automatic ellipsis function in WPF but I'm not certain it can be used if you want to show the number if items in each category (typically projects, that's where the long strings appear)
