Website: Provide Checksums (SHA1 + MD5 + GPG) to verify downloaded binaries. Also please use https.

Anonymous 8 years ago 0

As told above.

This is intended for users who want to keep their envionments working and without malware.

To let this feature work, an https connection is required. If only one kind of checksum is possible please opt for GPG. Thank you in advance!

Hello... first, i was excited. Wieldy seemed to be the Tool, i was locking for for a long time.

Kay-Uwe Höpcke 8 years ago 0

Then, i tried to find a manual, because i wanted tu use the tool together with other members of my family. I asked, how to do it... and got no answer.I saved the file in my dropbox, so that my wife also can excess. But as i startet the software next time, it did not open my file. Instead of that, it opened the standard-file, my data was off and away. I opened my file manually, I added some new data, saved the file and stopped Wieldy. As i startet again, there was no reaction, it didnt start. So i thingt, without a manual, it is impossible to use for me.

erledigte Aufgaben mit identischem Namen

chraus 13 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 13 years ago 0

Answer
Kevin Erath 13 years ago

Unique priority

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 13 years ago 0
Hi
Many thanks for this software!
Until now I have managed my todo's in a Excel sheet. I gave each idea a unique priority (as an integer) and could sort by title or priority.
In Wieldy, there are only four types of priority available. So I wonder if there is a possibility to define the exact, "unique" priority for each idea and be able to sort by this unique priority?
Perhaps, this idea is similar to this one: http://wieldy.userecho.com/feedback/5421-to-move-the-item-forwardbackword/
Many thanks!
Answer
Kevin Erath 13 years ago
Actions can now be manually sorted by the user.
This may not reflect the original request with custom priorities, but could be used to solve it.

The custom sorting is saved and you can always sort by another sort option and switch back to your custom sorting.

Named filters tabbed interface

Anonymous 13 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 13 years ago 0
After using Thinkingrock for a number of years I have found their filtering function very useful, Mainly for grouping contexts, typically when I have something to buy from a store at a certain location. I tag each action with the store name (@Biltema, @Bauhaus etc). and then I create a filter named with the shopping area (@Erikslund) to filter out all the visits I need in that area to do them at the same time.

I also use this to group actions related to work, to private, phone, a certain group of people etc.

I suggest a tabbed interface where I can set up critera for filtering for each tab I create.

You got a great GTD tool going here, really love it!!

Customization for the severety of the tasks.

Please provide support for creating customized severity.

Because all the requirements and projects and individuals may not fall under the same umbrella of 4 types of severety..

The lock function, including any pwd should be optional

Tomas S 13 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 13 years ago 0
As stated, because at the workplace/office the lock function have little meaning since the IT department in nine cases of ten has setup computers to lock when the screen/energy saver activates. A second lock function is redundant.

At home this function also has little purpose because who else would be there to peek up on my actions?
Answer
Kevin Erath 13 years ago
Note that the password protection als encrypts the file.
You can also configure Wieldy to automatically unlock on startup.
Only the icon for locking will remain. I may add a feature to configure this.

Idee mit Kontakt(en) verknüpfen

Anonymous 12 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 11 years ago 0

Answer

Derzeit ist eine solche Funktion tatsächlich nicht implementiert.

Bad Download Link

Anonymous 11 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 11 years ago 0

Hi, Trying to download Wieldy for your Mobile Device (Experimental) - V0.3.1.996 takes you a page that states no such file exists. It does list available past ones, including 0.3.0.898 - the previous version.

And thank you for a very nice, flexible program, Kevin.

Kevin Erath 11 years ago
With the next release I will discontinue support for the Windows Mobile device, as the platform is already dead.

Thanks for the info about the broken link. I will fix it.

When adding a tag the beginning of the list of tags becomes hidden behind the help pop-up.  If I',m not fast enough this leads to waiting time.

I know of this bug already. It happens only under some Windows XP machines. I couldn't find a simple solution, as the bug seems to be hidden in the .NET Framework. The best way to solve it, will be moving Wieldy to .NET 4.0. I have planned to upgrade to .NET 4.0 within the next three releases...

dependencies how-to

Anonymous 14 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 14 years ago 0
first thanks for this straight forward implementation of GTD. hope you will maintain the clean interface and will not overload this perl with too many features. good work.

I know this sounds like a newbie question, but how do you suggest to organize dependencies in actions? Is this somehow supported in the project lists? If so, I don't get it.

best regards,
Alf
Answer
Kevin Erath 14 years ago
Actually Wieldy does not have a dependency-feature to link actions together. This means actually you can not configure that "todo1" has to be done before "todo2".

To group your actions together, you can use projects and tags. That way you can filter your todos. Additionally you could set a priority to your actions. That way you can for example set "todo1" on "high" and "todo2" to normal.

I had a feature planned to link actions together, but it seemed to be to complicated. Do you have many actions which depend on each others and it is not obvious which action is to be done first? If so, how would you like to manage this? Maybe we can find a more fitting solution for you.

Auto scroll down when adding elements

britesprite 13 years ago updated by Kevin Erath 13 years ago 0
I'm creating a long list of items under project using the duplicate key and then changing the name and date. Once the list is longer than the window size the next one is placed just below the current view meaning I have to scroll down before being able to open it.

This is probably an aesthetic across the whole application (I've only just started using it), but when adding to a list like this could the window automatically scroll to the end of that list? Thanks!
